Disability Assistance Program Description
Our Disability Assistance Program is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged Copts living with disabilities in Egypt. Through invaluable home visits and in-person case studies, we have gained deep insights into the challenges faced by these families. Many individuals rely on their loved ones for assistance with basic needs like using the restroom or taking a shower, often risking injury due to the absence of essential mobility equipment.
Our program focuses on providing practical solutions that significantly enhance the quality of life for these individuals. By supplying mobility devices and making small home modifications, we can drastically reduce the risk of falls and injuries. With the generous support of our donors, we have successfully purchased critical medical equipment, including:
Manual and electric wheelchairs
Restroom wheelchairs
Crutches and walkers
Sore prevention mattresses
Medical lifts
Essential medications
Every contribution enables us to continue this vital work, ensuring that those in need receive the assistance they require to live with dignity and safety. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these families.
Here’s How You Can Help:
$100 provides a manual wheelchair.
$1000 funds an electric wheelchair for students to navigate classes.
$1500 purchases a Patient Medical Lift or supports home modifications.
Join us in shining a light of hope for Coptic families with disabilities and illnesses. Together, we can transform lives!
How We Support People with Disabilities and Illnesses
At Coptic Cross Ministries, we believe in providing compassionate, tailored support for families facing disabilities and illnesses. Each family is paired with a dedicated church volunteer who serves as a case manager, ensuring personalized care. In critical situations, we assemble a specialized team that includes a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, and psychologist, alongside the volunteer, to provide comprehensive assistance.
Our volunteers conduct thorough assessments of medical needs to ensure families receive the appropriate equipment. For example, we provide manual wheelchairs for homebound individuals, while students may qualify for electric ones. We don’t just deliver these essential devices; we also install them and offer training to families on their use and maintenance. If a device can be repaired, we take it to a maintenance shop, ensuring it stays in top condition.
In addition, Coptic Cross conducts home inspections to identify necessary safety modifications, helping to prevent injuries and enhance living conditions.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Coptic Cross Ministries has made a profound difference in the lives of many individuals living with disabilities and illnesses, providing vital services.
