Empower Coptic Children to Defeat Poverty
Coptic Cross Ministries strongly believes that each child deserves to live in a safe home, to eat healthy nutritious food, to grow spiritually and intellectually.
It breaks our hearts when we see during our visits a child sleep on some blankets on the floor because his/her family can’t afford purchasing a bed. By the grace of God and your support, we have purchased beds for so many underprivileged children.
We can’t imagine how parents feel when they see their child is terribly sick and can’t afford to do whatever it takes to treat their precious child. Thank God, we have provided medical assistance and eased the pain of many children.
We make sure we give each child a Bible. Reading the Bible helps children know who God is. They discover facts about God’s character and His deep love for them and the world. Their knowledge of God helps them to trust Him and build a relationship with Him. Trusting God is the way for children to live the life of obedience to Him.
Also, we care so much about education. We believe that education is the first step to overcoming poverty. Having enough school supplies improves grades, creativity, attitudes towards learning, behavior, peer relationships and self-image. A single pack of pencils and paper could be the gateway to academic success allowing a student to make it all the way to college.
Thank God, with donor support, the organization has purchased and distributed school supplies to 338 children of all ages so far.
$25 enables Coptic Cross to purchase a Bible and one year’s worth of school supplies for one child.
$50 enables Coptic Cross to purchase a children’s bed.
$100 enables us to treat a sick child.
Home visits and case studies have revealed the suffering of so many children. For example, the organization has visited homes where children sleep on blankets on the floor because the family can’t afford a bed. By the grace of the Lord and your giving, the organization provides new beds, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, and more.
We have witnessed children wearing clothes that don’t fit their size or the season. It brings us great pleasure when we provide new clothes to a child in need. Doing so increases their self-esteem and the joy of life.
Children also receive a sufficient quantity of school supplies, such as coloring tools, crayons, pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, rollers, and different size notebooks.
Also, Coptic Cross Ministries gives each child a Bible that is appropriate to his/her age.
Children by nature ask questions all the time. For instance, they ask, “who is God? How does He exist? Does God really love us? Why did God create the world and us? Why is there evil in the world? What happens to us when one dies?” This is just a few of many questions!
Equipping children and youth with the Bible helps them grow in the love and knowledge of Christ and allows them to find answers to questions they may have.
