Monthly Food Assistance Program Description
Our Monthly Food Assistance Program aims to support the most vulnerable Coptic families in Upper Egypt. Through diligent case studies, we identify families facing severe nutritional challenges, especially children who are at risk of diseases and long-term stunted growth due to inadequate nutrition.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and our partnership with the Coptic Church in Egypt, we are able to provide nutritious food packages each month. Our dedicated volunteers ensure that these packages are delivered directly to enrolled families, offering them a reliable source of sustenance.
Each family receives monthly cash allowance or comprehensive food boxes that include a variety of essential items to last the entire month. Our packages contain:
Bread
Beef
Chicken
Fish
Pasta
Rice
Grains
Cooking oil
Canned goods
Dairy products

$50 a month feeds a family of 2 for the entire month.

Together We Thrive: Monthly Food Assistance for Coptic Families
During visits to underserved Coptic communities in Egypt, volunteers were struck by the sight of children bearing the weight of malnutrition in nearly every home. These heartbreaking scenes highlight a profound struggle: many families simply cannot afford enough nutritious food.
Poverty stands as the primary driver of malnutrition in developing countries, leading to dire consequences such as hindered brain development in children, weakened immune systems, and a heightened risk of chronic diseases in adults.
However, there is hope. With the generous support of our donors, Coptic Cross Ministries has significantly expanded its monthly food assistance program. Every month, dedicated church volunteers work tirelessly to deliver nutritious food and financial assistance directly to these families, ensuring they receive the reliable support they desperately need.
