01About This Policy
Coptic Cross Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian organization based in Ashburn, Virginia (EIN: 86-1845487). We are deeply grateful for every gift we receive, as each donation directly supports Coptic families facing disability and illness in Egypt. This Donation Policy is intended to give our donors a clear understanding of how we receive, process, and steward the donations made to our ministry.
02Tax Deductibility of Donations
Coptic Cross Ministries is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, effective October 2021. All donations made to Coptic Cross Ministries are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law under IRC Section 170.
Donors will receive an official donation receipt by email following each contribution. This receipt serves as your official record for tax purposes. For donations of $250 or more, a formal written acknowledgment will be provided in accordance with IRS requirements.
03How to Donate
Coptic Cross Ministries accepts donations through the following methods:
Online. Secure online donations can be made at www.copticcross.org through our trusted payment processors, including Donorbox, Stripe, PayPal, and Google Pay.
By mail. Checks may be made payable to Coptic Cross Ministries and mailed to:

All transactions are conducted in U.S. dollars.
04How Donations Are Used
Coptic Cross Ministries is committed to the responsible and faithful stewardship of every donation we receive. All contributions are used to support our ministry programs, which include Monthly Food Assistance, Disability Support Homes, Medical Care and Support, Children’s Educational Support, Family Financial Assistance, and Small Business Development for Coptic families facing disability and illness in Egypt.
A portion of donations may be used to cover reasonable administrative and operational costs necessary to sustain and grow the ministry. Coptic Cross Ministries is committed to transparency and accountability in all financial matters, as reflected in our Candid Platinum Transparency profile (formerly GuideStar).
05Recurring Donations
Donors may choose to make recurring monthly donations through our online giving platform. Recurring donations will be automatically processed on the same date each month using the payment method provided at the time of enrollment. Donors may cancel or modify their recurring donation at any time by contacting us at info@copticcross.org or by managing their donation settings through the giving platform.
06Designated Donations
Donors who wish to designate their gift to a specific program are welcome to do so by indicating their preference at the time of donation. Coptic Cross Ministries will make every reasonable effort to honor designated gifts. However, if a designated program is discontinued or fully funded, Coptic Cross Ministries reserves the right to redirect the donation to where it is most needed, in alignment with our overall mission.
07Donation Refund Policy
Coptic Cross Ministries understands that errors can occur. We are committed to handling all refund requests with fairness, transparency, and care.
Refund requests will be considered in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate donations. If you have been charged more than once for the same intended donation, we will issue a full refund for the duplicate charge.
- Erroneous donations. If a donation was made in error, such as an incorrect amount or an unintended transaction, please contact us within 30 days of the donation date.
To request a refund, please contact us at info@copticcross.org with your full name, donation date, donation amount, and a brief description of the issue. All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the approval of Coptic Cross Ministries. Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.
All other donations are considered final and nonrefundable, as they are immediately directed toward serving families in need.
08Gifts in Kind
Coptic Cross Ministries may, at its discretion, accept gifts in kind such as goods, supplies, or services that directly support our mission. All gifts in kind are subject to review and acceptance by Coptic Cross Ministries. Donors of gifts in kind are responsible for obtaining their own independent appraisal for tax purposes, as required by IRS guidelines.
09Anonymous Donations
Coptic Cross Ministries accepts anonymous donations. However, please note that we are unable to provide tax receipts for anonymous gifts. Donors who wish to remain anonymous but still receive a tax receipt should contact us directly at info@copticcross.org.
10Donor Privacy
Coptic Cross Ministries is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. We do not sell, trade, or share donor information with any third party for commercial purposes. Donor information is used solely to process donations, issue receipts, and communicate ministry updates to those who have opted in to receive them. 11Changes to This Policy
Coptic Cross Ministries reserves the right to modify this Donation Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage donors to review this policy periodically.
