A Place to Belong for Coptic Men and Women Living with Disability

Many Coptic men and women in Egypt live with disability and have no family able to care for them. Coptic Cross Ministries is establishing residency homes where they can live in safety, dignity, and belonging. To honor privacy and personal dignity, women and men are cared for in separate homes.

These homes are designed around the whole person and are intended to provide:

Safe, fully accessible living spaces, with ramps, accessible bathrooms, grab bars, and fall prevention throughout.

Around-the-clock care from trained caregivers, with help for daily needs offered gently and with respect.

Nutritious daily meals, clean water, and comfortable, private space to rest.

On-site nursing, medication management, mobility equipment, and rehabilitation to support each resident’s health.

Companionship and community, with shared activities, rest, and a true sense of family.

Emotional and psychological support, so no one carries their struggles alone.

Spiritual care for each resident according to his or her own Christian denomination, with prayer, services, and clergy from that tradition, because faith is a comfort no one should have to lose.

For a person who once had no one, these homes are meant to become exactly that: a home.

This program is just beginning, and we need everyone’s support to make it a reality in Egypt. By God’s grace, our first home is now being established, and photos of its progress will appear here soon.
